Maurizio CENNI Mayor of the City of Siena E-mail: sindaco@comune.siena.it Profile: Maurizio Cenni was born in Siena in 1955 and he graduated in. Since the 13th of May 2001 he is the Mayor of the City of Siena. He has worked for the Bank Monte dei Paschi of Siena, in Amalfi, Positano, Maiori, Ravello, Latina and Florence. Since 1995 he follows small and medium enterprises department of the General Headquarter in Siena. From 1980 he works as: Secretary of the bankers district CGIL of Latina and Secretary of the RSA of Latina until the 1985; from 1985 to 1993 he has worked as general Secretary of the National Bankers Co-ordination CGIL of the Bank Monte dei Paschi of Siena, and member of the Regional and National Leading; since 1997 he has worked as co-ordinator of managers and bank officials of the Monte dei Paschi Council. In the 1993 he was elected town councillor and confirmed again in 1997 during local government elections. During the first mandate he was the PDS leader, member of the Sport Commission, Planning Commission, Balance and General Business, Study Commission for the revisions of the Palio’s regulations audit and member of the Editorial Committee for the Balzana. During the second mandate he was a leader and president of the Planning Commission, Balance and General Business, a member of the Country Planning, Guarantee and Control Commission and Study Commission for the Palio’s regulations audit. From 1994 to 1997, encharged by the City Hall of Siena, he has been a member of the board of directors of the Siena Football team. He was Vicar and President of its Contrada until December 2000. Presentation: “Siena: a digital city” The Siena Mayor Maurizio Cenni, will present the project : “Siena a cabled town”. During his speech he will dwell upon details concerning the principal characteristics of the fibre optical network of Siena and its big potentiality, on the innovative services that could be connected trough the cable. It will be kept out for immediate attention the strategic capacity of the municipal government to reconcile culture, art and the Sienese resources with the new technologies and the cable net. It will be presented on of the projects: CCS Cable TV, the Siena City Hall cable TV. A real Civic Channel that has succeeded as public communication model at national and European level and new media between TV and Internet. A presentation wishing to show the Siena’s System, concerning the works, the perspectives and the operative instruments.
