"Dante Alighieri", a moral society founded in 1889 and which, by its ordinance, takes care of the diffusion of the Italian language and civilization abroad, offered the Masgalano for both 2003 Palio races. Conceived and achieved by Vincenzo Bianciardi and Cosetta Francini, two Sienese artists and craftsmen (Jeweller Bianciardi), this work marries tradition with innovation, both in the choice of materials (silver and blown glass) and conception. This elegant and refined price shows, on its central disk, the effigy of the supreme Poet with the motto of "Dante Alighieri": only love and light for borders, the coats-of-arms of the city and the Contradas. |
