The Children’s Illustration Exhibition, The Pictures of Fantasy, is once again in Siena hosted at the Art Museum for Children. This international review gives ample coverage to the various languages of illustrations, trying to grasp the exemplarity of the creative itinerary of each artist in a worldwide context. This year is the exhibition’s tenth Sienese edition, thanks to the collaboration of the Art Museum for Children and the city with the city council of Sàrmede. Each year, the museum chooses part of the review and, through careful attention to the setting up of the exhibition and the didactic activities for the very young, offers an itinerary able to set the visitors in the environment and with the atmosphere narrated in the illustrations: a setting which, thanks to the music and to certain reconstructions, is able to make young and old travel in time and space. The exhibition is made up of a general section, one dedicated to a guest of honour (the German artist Ivan Gantschev) and another one dedicated to a special theme. This year’s is called “Ice Songs, tales from the Artic Region”. Just as it does every year, the Art Museum for Children sides the exhibition with its own contribution enhancing it. The child visiting the exhibitions set up at the Art Museum for Children finds situations which have been planned keeping children in mind. Starting from the setting of the environment to the activities and events proposed during the exhibition, everything has been studied keeping in mind the needs of young children and is aimed at enriching their experience giving them points of view and the most diverse and unusual elements to reflect upon
