Over 400 events including musical festivals, exhibitions, sports, gastronomic occasions, conferences and conventions. Lots of different appointments but also lots of opportunities to have fun in Siena, to come or to return to our city to stay longer and in any season.
Siena, able to conciliate art with creative impulse as in the exhibition “Art, genius e insanity” organized by Vittorio Sgarbi, but also able to maintain its tastes and principles which have inspired history with the exhibition “Viva l’acqua dal Vivo”, a way to celebrate the hundred years from the start of the construction works of the Sienese aqueduct.
A city where each day can be lived differently, never to be repeated, going from the art music of “Città Aromatica” at the frenetic rhythm of jazz, which in July, thanks to the Siena Jazz Foundation, echoes in the narrow medieval streets.
But it is not just art and it is not just music. Siena is a city to be discovered by walking along its lanes, stopping at the lesser-known corners, enjoying the landscapes which open up suddenly onto the horizon. There are so many things to be done when taking part in the Urban Trekking event, an initiative which is now on a national level, accompanying tourists and citizens through the beauties of the city on itineraries which are always different.
Here are some of my proposals for those people who would like to visit Siena this year, to capture its charm and beauty, tips I give to all those who would like to come to a modern city which also holds the fragrances of history and its own traditions.
