Every day of the year Siena offers something more than its cultural and human wealth: ours is a city which is alive, stimulating and together very tied to its ancient traditions. A surprising harmony between past and present having in the Palio its most noble and stunning occurrence.
Every Saturday morning, until May 2010, it will be possible to enter the Museums and Oratories of the Contrade of the Palio. A unique opportunity for who is not from Siena to understand the solidarity and passion which, from the Middle Ages until today, animates our people. The visits are promoted by the City Council on the occasion of the 700 years of the Sienese "Costituto" of 1309, the first constitution written in vernacular, that is, the ancestor of the Italian language, rather than Latin. A millenary stone on the road towards democracy of which Siena is proud to have been protagonist.
