  • Sienese artists in the Lindenau collection - Altenburg Museum

    An extraordinary and not very well-known collection, which contains Italian paintings of the Gothic and the Renaissance period, was gathered during the XIX century in the small city of Altenburg by the baron Bernhard August von Lindenau, who then donated the collection to his city. It contains works of artists such as: Guido da Siena, Lippo Memmi, Pietro Lorenzetti, Sano di Pietro, Giovanni di Paolo, Matteo di Giovanni, Martino di Bartolomeo, Domenico Beccafumi, and many others.
